Malaysia Airlines aims to expand regionally from Penang

GEORGE TOWN, March 26 (Bernama) -- Malaysia Airlines is actively looking for suitable regional routes as part of its business expansion, especially for flights originating from Penang.
Malaysia Airlines Bhd (MAB) Malaysia and Brunei Regional Head Roslan Ismail said the group was on an expansion mode, and the Penang International Airport (PIA) would be one of the high-volume passenger airports where the group was considering to have regional direct flights.
"After our restructuring, which resulted in the reduction of international and regional routes, we are now looking for opportunities to expand once more," he told reporters after announcing Malaysia Airlines as the official airline of the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Fair Penang 2018 here today.
He said the group recently received its latest flagship aircraft, the Airbus 350-XWB, which offered modern and improved amenities, including quieter cabins, fresher air, intelligent lighting and onboard Wi-Fi services.
"We also recently embarked on various products refresh, ranging from the refurbishment of the Golden Lounges at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to the introduction of the 'Best of Malaysia' in-flight menu and the introduction of innovative solutions to enhance passengers' experience," Roslan said.....
