KUALA LUMPUR, 12 June 2014: As the countdown begins to the Official Opening of MATTA Fair September 2014, the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) with its intention to start the buzz and excitement, hosted the MATTA Fair September Launch Reception in one of the most popular hotels in the KLCC area. Attendees included travel agents and tour operators, representatives from NTOs (National Tourism Offices), STOs (State Tourism Offices), foreign high commissions and press and media.
The Launch Reception is hosted by the Organising Committee of MATTA Fair September 2014 to thank travel agents and tour operators who have been faithfully participating in the MATTA Fair.
MATTA Fair is an established brand for consumer travel fair in Malaysia. The Fair is popular with local wanderlusts who see the travel fair as a yearly pilgrimage of sorts. The September MATTA Fair will be held at PWTC from Sept 5 to 7 with an additional Hall 4. This hall would be designated as the Malaysia Hall with focus on domestic tourism.
MATTA Fair Organising Committee Chairman, Rocky Kho, has emphasised during his speech that the Organising Committee is going all out to attract visitors to the Fair. One of the avenues of achieving this target is to have higher expenditure on the Advertising and Promotion and simultaneously widening the breadth of media partners.
“Indeed by increasing the breadth of media partners with MATTA Fair, we want to be heard and seen. But the ultimate goal is to arouse the interest and excitement of the general public to draw them to the Fair,” said Rocky Kho.
“Knowing today’s changing trend, there might be very different ways of reaching out to the younger generation. Hence, this explains our move into social media, online news and radio slots to stoke their interest and excitement. Brand names which strike resonance with them. To win customers, we must have a way to communicate to customers.” Kho added.
“We have secured approximately RM2.98 million-worth in value for A&P. This is the commitment we make to our exhibitors. Through this platform, we want to convey our message loud and clear to our exhibitors,” Kho said in his final note.
